At Rosella Park School, we believe every student has the right to be heard—in their own way. Many of our students use alternative or additional communication supports, and we are committed to creating a language-rich environment where all communication is valued. Our classrooms use a range of evidence-based tools such as visuals, key word signing, symbols, AAC devices, core boards and routine supports to help students express their needs, make choices and participate meaningfully in learning.
Our staff are trained to model and respond to all forms of communication, whether spoken, signed, gestured or device-based. We work closely with families and therapists to ensure students have consistent and personalised communication systems that grow with them. By removing communication barriers and celebrating every attempt to connect, we help our students build confidence, independence and strong relationships with those around them.
