At Rosella Park School we understand that our school is a community made up of learners with varying and individual needs. Because we aim to support the development of the whole person, learning at Rosella Park embraces the vision that every child can learn.

Rosella Park School has a quality curriculum which aligns to departmental expectations and we assess learning outcomes using a variety of testing instruments dependent upon individual ability. Your child’s education may be progressed through approaches focussing on academic, functional, social emotional skills, vocational or communication skills. As with all schools, we undertake a regular process of reflection to identify how we can further improve the delivery of a quality education in a safe and supportive environment to all students.

Rosella Park School, as one of Gladstone's leading providers of Special Education, has a strong post-schooling pathways focus with an excellent and consistent record of student achievement. Ours is a strong and supportive community with the capacity to get to know and care for the individual student. We provide attention and assistance to each child to be the best they can be.

Our team of special educators have specialist skills and qualifications in addition to mainstream education/teaching skills. Such professional skill sets the team possess at Rosella Park School include:

  • Educational Psychology and its application to Teaching and Learning in special education.
  • Understanding the functions of behaviour and the implementation of appropriate behaviour interventions.
  • Cognitive development in children with disabilities.
  • Language, Literacy & Numeracy acquisition/development in students with disabilities.
  • Social emotional development of young people with disabilities.
  • Vocational access and workplace transitions.
  • Workplace adjustment models and processes for students transitioning to employment.
  • Disability specific knowledge and implications for educational development.

As a team of professional and paraprofessional educators, staff at Rosella Park School regularly undertake professional development, often in their own time, to ensure that they remain up to date with the latest education and disability research. Some are so committed to their profession that they continue their professional journey through post-graduate studies.
